Despacito was a track from the year 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most streamed and downloaded song in the world within the space of six months. It was a mixture of reggaeton, pop and rock did not just bring interest to reggaeton, but also attracted attention to Latin music more generally. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs predominantly in Spanish as of 2016, in contrast to just two songs in 2015. However, during the heights of Despacito's fame in the year 2017, there were 19 predominantly Spanish tracks which made it into the top 100. Then in 2020 the number was 41. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 with a version in two languages. Then, various artists collaborated with reggaeton superstars such as Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019 Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for some artists during the year the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation wanted to preserve the style. The musician incorporated electronic dance music and others into his music.
