Rosalia
Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. [7][8] She was raised in Barcelona and has been called an "atypical popstar" because of her diverse musical styles. 9 years ago, at the age of 13, she fell in an obsession with Spanish folk music, and she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She was also a guest at weddings and music bars. Reimagining flamenco by mixing it with hip hop and pop music, it produced the singles "Malamente" and "Pienso en Your Mira" which attracted the interest of the Spanish general public, and were released to a wide critical acclaim. The album was awarded the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year and listed in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, El Mal Querer started the rise of Rosalia into the international music scene. Rosalia's 2019 albums "Con Altura" (13) and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi" (12-13) were pioneers in urbano , which earned her international popularity. She gave reggaeton an experimental style on her third album Motomami (2022), departing from the new flamenco sound of its predecessor. With the singles "La Fama"" and "Saoko" and "Saoko," the album received a worldwide acclaim and was named the top-rated album of the year by Metacritic. Rosalia has had ten top one songs in her native country in the span of her entire career. This is the most she's ever had for an artist from her own country. She has also won two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year nominations) as well as four MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, three UK Music Video Awards and two Premio Ruido awards, among other things. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award, in 2019, for "changing the sound today's mainstream music with her distinctive flamenco pop". 18 years ago, she is also the first Latino-singing group to be nominated for Best New Artist at Grammys.
Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Her birthplace was in an ethnically diverse family and is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella who runs a small business in the family that specialises in metalwork. Her father, Jose Manuel Vila, was born in Cudillero, Asturias. They divorced in the year 2019. [23] Her older sister, Pilar Vila ("born 1989") is her stylist and creative brain. Rosalia showed an interest in performing arts from a young age, particularly following her discovery of the discography of Camaron de la Isla. She began her musical education in the Taller de Musics [es]. 24 She completed six years of study at the academy. She started at the Raval school, and then transferred to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. [25] She also worked on her own, singing at weddings, musical bars and other occasions. The pay was "a little over 80 euro or in exchange for dinner". Rosalia has also met a lot of underground Spanish musicians during this time including La Zowi (Yung Beef), Kaydy Cain and Hinds.
